What a full tune addresses
A dry base, shallow scratches and rough edges can make a snowboard feel less predictable. A tune-up begins with an inspection, because deep gouges, core shots or loose edges may need repair work beyond routine tuning.
Base and edge work
The technician cleans the base, checks damage and works on the edges according to the board's condition. Deeper base or edge damage is assessed and priced before extra repair work goes ahead. Not every damaged board can be restored to an as-new condition.
Hot wax and finish
After the base and edges are prepared, hand hot wax is applied, cooled, scraped and brushed. This is part of the standard ski and snowboard tune-up. Snow conditions and riding frequency affect when the next service is useful.
